Branch - my word of inspiration for 2025.
John 15:4. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine neither can you unless you abide in me.
Trees are part of my life. I grow them, write about them, draw them and yes, hug them.
Sometimes a branch must be pruned and sometimes supported or trained. I have been that branch. I have felt separated and dead at times and at other times, very much alive and connected. There have been times of unproductivity There have been times of fruit bearing. It is not difficult to distinguish which times in which I was not abiding in the vine. They were the times when I held onto the world, even trying to save it. Not my job.
I choose Branch for 2025 to inspire me to abide. Abide…to listen, to learn, to grow.
